WaterFire art installation celebrates 15 years on Providence rivers this summer

Bonfires on the river: Providence WaterFire is 15

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — WaterFire, the Providence art installation that consists of 100 bonfires on the city’s three rivers, is celebrating 15 years this summer.

Lightings scheduled for the rest of the season will take place July 17, July 31, Aug. 14, Aug. 28 and Oct. 9.

The lightings are synchronized with music and are sometimes accompanied by dance performances.

In celebration of the 15th year of the attraction, organizers are seeking stories and memories from spectators to be sent to my.story(at)waterfire.org.
