200-plus Titanic items coming to Indiana museum
INDIANAPOLIS — More than 240 artifacts recovered from Titanic’s wreckage will be included in an exhibit opening at the Indiana State Museum this fall.
Museum officials announced Tuesday that “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” will open Sept. 25 and remain on display through January.
Visitors will receive a boarding pass representing an actual passenger on the ill-fated 1912 voyage and tour the exhibit as that passenger, including visits to a re-created first-class cabin and a third-class cabin and hallway.
Seven versions of the Titanic exhibit are traveling the world, but this is the first stop in Indiana. Tickets for the 7,000-square-foot exhibit at the museum in Indianapolis will cost $17 and go on sale Aug. 1.
