Virginia sites prepare for Historic Garden Week
RICHMOND, Va. — More than 250 of Virginia’s private homes, grounds and historic sites are getting ready for Historic Garden Week.
Also known as “America’s Largest Open House,” the weeklong event starts Saturday. About three dozen walking tours will be held throughout the state, and each local tour features four to seven properties.
Historic Garden Week is sponsored by the Garden Club of Virginia to benefit the restoration of historic gardens. It’s one of the oldest and largest statewide house and garden-tour events in the nation.
