‘Kingdom Of Dreams’ now Open for Visitors

GURGAON, INDIA (GaeaTImes.com) — Kingdom of Dreams is a mega project in Gurgaon, under the joint venture of Wizcraft and Apra Group. It is a permanent structure having culture, arts, crafts and food boulevard designed by the famous Bollywood set director Omung Kumar.

One of the three parts of this structure named The Cultural Gully, has been opened for visitors from today. The launch took place last night at ‘Kingdom of Dreams’, where Priyanka Chopra was the chief guest. The Gully brings out the hustle and bustle of a busy Indian bazar and is the home for 14 state pavilions providing different local delicacies. According to sources, the ticket price is set at Rs. 700. Out of this Rs. 600 is refundable. This money can be used to order food items from the various joints. Visitors can recharge for more amount if they need to order more food.

Kingdom of Dreams is an attempt at bringing different cultures of India. Each state carries its trademark Punjab with a colorful truck and cycle rickshaw, while Mumbai with the dabbawalas, clock tower and old movie posters. Kerala comes with the houseboat while Rajasthan with an overdose of royal colours and so on.

The entrance to the gully and the decor inside is dominated by lotus motifs. Another highlight is the 110-feet figure of sleeping Buddha at the entrance. As many as 300 artisans and craftsmen from different parts of the country had handcrafted and painted the gully. A lot of care has been taken to bring out the flavor of each state in the form of the furniture used, the colours, the ambiance, the music and the way the food is served. This Rs. 2 billion project is truly one of a kind and is surely going to be a famous foreign tourist destination during the Common Wealth Games.
