16 Year old Sailing Around the World: Abby Sunderland Went Missing

Abby Sunderland, a 16 year old teen sailor who started sailing around the world with the zeal to set a record as the youngest suddenly went missing. According to AP, she is missing between somewhere in Africa and Australia.
Abby was sailing into the Southern Indian Ocean when she faced a storm. Reportedly, she lost contact with her family on Thursday and since then no communication has been re-established even after the storm is over. During the storm an emergency signal was also by her satellite phone.
Meanwhile, Australian Search and Rescue is sending an airbus over Abby’s location. But their focus is on re-establishing communication with the young navigator through marine radio so that she can be provided with support to fight back emergency situation. However report suggests that Abby is equipped with all necessary things to survive in adverse.
Abby started her voyage on January 23 this year. She set on her journey with a 40 foot, orange and yellow racing yacht named “Wild Eyes.” Abby’s solo sailing was criticized since the voyage was meant for Indian Ocean during the onset of winter storm.
Abby is an experienced sailor and was well-aware of the difficulties she has to face. She used to maintain a blog throughout her journey. Her last update revealed that she had hit a bad weather and strong winds are blowing as high as 45 knots.
Abby Sunderland Update: In Twitter CBSNews has confirmed that the young sailor has been traced by the searchers. She is alive and doing well.

who would lt their child do this? i hope she is found alive but how much of the tax payers money is being used to rescue her? will the family pay the money back? i dont think so |
