Jessica Watson Sails Back Home

SYDNEY (GaeaTimes.com)-Australian teenage sailor Jessica Watson who has set a new record for becoming the youngest person to sail the globe on her own and uninterrupted has returned to her homeland in Australia. She set out for a voyage seven months back that lasted for a whopping 210 days but finally she succeeded in achieving her dream. Her family was very happy as anyone could imagine and her mother could hardly hold back her tears. A lot of people gathered at the Sydney harbor and they gave her a standing ovation as she sailed in the harbor in her pink yacht. Actually a lot of people woe pink dresses to make the event more jubilant! Her mother was very glad when she saw her daughter coming near the land and said she had kept her word.
Jessica Watson sailed almost 38000 km on her own and this is a record achievement for someone so young. Australian PM Kevin Rudd was also at the Sydney harbor to welcome her back and he also reiterated the fact. He praised her in lavish terms and said that she was a hero. The girl however said she was not an extraordinary person. She has plans to write a book covering the journey she undertook.
A lot of people also saw the end of the voyage of Jessica Watson on TV live. The girl is going to turn 17 soon and the honor she was given on the completion of her voyage will surely make this birthday a memorable one for her. The Pm also gave her a free driving lesson gift.
