This parade takes place at Coney Island every year. It began in the year of 1983 and it was conceptualized and organized by Dick Zigun. The 2010 Mermaid parade started at 2 pm at west 21st street and Surf Avenue. The direction was from east to west. Elastic flippers, shiny scales and widespread nudity enriched the parade.
