Man falls at Disney’s California Adventure park

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Police say a man was hurt in a 20-foot fall while waiting to get on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s California Adventure theme park in Anaheim.

The 20-year-old was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

Disneyland Resorts spokeswoman Suzi Brown says the man was in a line on a staircase leading to the attraction Wednesday night when he climbed over a barrier on a second-floor landing, lost his balance and fell. His name wasn’t released.

Police Sgt. Rick Martinez says the man was with friends when he put a leg over the railing, joked about the chance of someone falling over — then lost his balance and fell.

Martinez says there are some indications that the man had been drinking.

(This version corrects that man was in line leading to the attraction, not walking to the top of the attraction.)
